How to handle your Problem Uniform Rental Company

  1. Ask your Employees: Interview your employees every few months to see if they are satisfied with their uniforms. If not, make sure they specify which issues are bothering them. A few common problems include: garment failures, such as pockets, buttons, zippers, belt loops, or missing emblems; missing garments that were picked up, but never delivered back; unmet requests for service; worn out garments; incorrect emblems; and late uniforms for new employees.
  2. Inspections: As an employer, you have certain standards you wish your employees to maintain. The uniforms they wear fall under these standards. So be sure to inspect garments yourself once every month to ensure they are up to your standard and you are getting what you paid for.
  3. Put it in Writing: Be sure to record all problems and complaints and keep them on file.
  4. Contact your Supplier: Notify your service deliveryman of your issues and record date of notification. Next, email your supplier with your issues and request that all future communication be via email. Emailing ensures you have a written request for service correction. Give your supplier a reasonable date by which to correct problems. If they comply as requested, you will be a happy customer, if not then you have something to use as leverage. Once you have several written requests that they have failed to respond to and or fix, you have them at a disadvantage and can negotiate from a position of strength
