Bad Habits that could be costing your Business

However, if you are not careful and stop putting in the effort, you could find yourself dumped by your significant other or, in this case, your client.

Break ups, both in your love life and in the business world, hurt. And while your heart may not be hurting when a client decides to leave your company, your bottom line will. For this reason, it is important to avoid the following Bad Habits that could be costing your Business.

  1. Showing up late: We understand that there are sometimes outside forces at play, such as traffic or a flat tire, which can cause you to show up late for a meeting or appointment. However, it is important to remember that your client’s time is just as valuable as your own. Apologize for the inconvenience and make sure it does not happen again. When you constantly show up late, it shows the client that you do not believe them to be a priority. If being late is unavoidable, for the reasons we mentioned above, be sure to call ahead and inform your client of the reason you are running late. A little courtesy goes a long way.
  2. Getting sidetracked: When meeting with a client, make that client your top priority. Do not answer your phone, do not check your email, do not do anything that takes your attention away from your client.
  3. Failing to follow up: Your initial meeting is just that, the initial meeting. It is important to follow up with your client. While your client may not be waiting by the phone for your call, they do expect to hear from you.
  4. Appearing messy and disheveled: If you and your employees look unkempt, what do you expect your client to think? If you don’t care enough about your own company, why would your client ever think you would care about their company?
